Saba Rostami-Shirazi
DesignerSaba is a designer with a deep appreciation for resilient built environments that respect the specificity of their site, environment, culture, and people.
Born in Houston, TX, and raised in Shiraz, Iran, her multicultural experiences drove an interest in the importance of diversity in the design of the built environment and shaped her passion for relating and responding to a broader spectrum of communities through design.
The joint influences of multicultural modernism in design and abstract arts have given her a unique perspective and ability to question what constitutes totality in design, and a better understanding of the value, potential, and the connection between the past and present to construct new futures.
By pairing knowledge and practice in Resiliency Design with research and data-driven studies on culture and geography, her work aims to merge contemporary performative design with strong connections to history, and create spaces that articulate the hybridized identity of contemporary place.
