Aquasox Stadium Study

Everett, WA
Sports Facilities, Public Space

For more than 40 years, the Everett Aquasox have leased their 1940’s era home field venue from the Everett School District, sharing an event schedule, parking, and facilities with the School District’s administrative offices, high-school sports programs, and the Everett Community College baseball team.  With the last major renovation having occurred more than a quarter century ago, the city of Everett and the owners of the Aquasox are considering options for a new, or vastly upgraded, stadium.

Northwest Studio was invited by the City of Everett Office of Economic Development to study and represent the siting of a new stadium and public park that could be woven into the fabric of downtown, creating a new home for local baseball, and concerts and community events, near Everett Station.

The work is an outgrowth of Northwest Studio’s Everett Station Convergence Study project, which conducted a detailed study on the opportunities to plan and build core components of a sustainable, equitable, and thriving neighborhood on publicly-owned land while supporting existing businesses in the Everett Station District.
